Immune Boosting with TCM

In my last entry, I mentioned some of Kelly's research regarding TCM protocols for COVID-19. One of  the primary recommendations is a formula called Jade screen. Read more about it here. .We get ours from a local herbalist/TCM practitioner who makes it and will happily help you stock your herbal home apothecary.  She is updating her online store now, so call, email or text her and she will help you bc this formula is not listed on her site right now but she has it in stock. . Her formulas are fresh, organic when possible, often wild-crafted, locally grown, and made with care and attention. (You can also find this formula elsewhere using a simple google search.)

Start taking this now.

The other remedy is Yin Chiao. Read more about it here.  Take this formula at the first sign of any illness. Do not wait.  (Also, a simple google search will yield results for ordering.)

Another herbal protocol that Kelly and I use is making a tea every evening. I use an insulated tea brewing device from Zojirushi. We put in raw astragalusginseng, and san chi. (The herbs could be variable, depending on what you need or want. We use these three for immunity, vitality, and pain-reduction properties, respectively.)

At night, I fill the thermos with boiling water and it steeps over night.

In the morning, after I scrape me tongue, do my oil pulling, use my  neti potnasya  oil and finish with   abhyanga, etc. I pour myself a cup of my tea that has steeped all night. This gives me warm fluids with lots of goodness first thing in the morning. Good for digestion, elimination, hydration, etc.

Keep in mind these are two basic suggestions that can be fine-tuned for your constitution if you speak with a TCM practitioner in your area. And, do not count on these formulas to  prevent infection entirely. They have, however,  been shown to lessen the severity and the duration of illness, when used in conjunction with allopathic treatments.  If you are infected, go to the doctor and/or hospital.

Also, these kinds of things do not replace hand washing, covering your mouth when you sneeze and cough, social distancing, sleep, good nutrition, common sense, etc. which is probably obvious but never hurts repeating.

All right-- more soon.
